'Good-bye'

“Good-bye”


I lay on the ground barely alive,


I see you and you looked like you were about to cry,


I stretched my face to make a warm smile,


And you smile back knowing I only awhile,


I remember all those good times we had together,


But when I am gone it may seem forever,


You lower your head and start to cry,


I reach out to you and you quietly whisper quietly, “Why…”


I mange to say, “Don’t think this is the end,


I can’t say good-bye to a really good friend.”


I slowly close my eyes, but only for a moment,


You say, “This will be alright…won’t it?”


I smile softly as you worry and grieve,


You fold you hands and say, “God please…please”


I started to say, “My time is almost up you see…”


“But I will always be with you…and you in me.”


You yell, “No, please don’t go!”


But you didn’t know,


You grab me as my soul starts to fly,


And there next to my friend I just die…
